A President is a leader and a very important person to this country, is what we're discussing this week. The two presidents that we are learning about the most is Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. We learned that Abraham Lincoln was a very tall man, he stood a little over 6 feet. As a fun assignment, we created a Abraham Lincoln on paper that was precisely six feet tall so that we can compare our size to him. We also learned that Abraham Lincoln grew up in a log cabin and with that we also created Lincoln logs out of sticks that we colored. We are also learning about George Washington. Discovering that he was our very first president and sharing the story about how he could not tell his father a lie and confessed to chopping down the cherry tree. With George Washington's cherry tree story, we learned that being honest is always best. |
