It was foggy and cold outdoors today; nevertheless, this was a wonderful special day for some of our preschoolers. The fog did not prevent them from getting a very clear view of our National Guard aircrafts, looking at them incredibly close. The friendly officer, who warmly welcomed and accompanied our eager children, gave them a short overview of the airplanes. Children loved running around the big live airplanes, touching them and asking questions. They were even put on a wing where they comfortably sat with big smiles for the camera. On top of this unique experience the children also enjoyed a presentation from the brave National Guard Firefighters! The green truck drove around sounding its siren and a lovely lady came out to talk to our children and educated them about the steps that are needed to be taken in case of a fire. Her partner dressed up in full gear and presented himself to the children. He wanted to reduce future anxieties that might occur if encountering such a “hero in disguise.” |
