| Hmong Culture Presentation | | Jan 08, 2007 | << More to News | | Kids Kare Schools continuously advocate for multicultural education. We encourage families and staff members to participate by introducing the various cultures to our children. This week we are fortunate to have one of our teachers share the Hmong culture with the children. The presentation is a very colorful one. It includes an explanation about and display of the unique traditional attire. Children also experience an introduction to the cultural dance and the teaching of counting numbers and greetings in the Hmong spoken language. The presenter showed the audience Hmong dolls and hand embroidered art and had the children listen to authentic music. Both children and teachers were intrigued and asked a lot of questions in order to find out more about a culture they have never been exposed to before. |
