Not So Scary Snakes | Mar 26, 2007 | << More to News | Today was our first “Not So Scary Snakes” field trip. The sun, which was hiding at first, joined us later for a bright, intriguing, educational encounter. Children were involved in a craft activity and created their own snakes. They learned about the eating habits of snakes and played the “Yam yam yak” game. In the enchanted building, children met Buster, a real friendly snake. They viewed the skin she shaded off just a few weeks ago. Children later made believe they were snakes growing into their skin and shading it, just to grow a new one. The interested preschoolers listened to stories and practiced finding snakes hiding in a picture book. Children also had a chance to look at the local pond and hunt for fish. |
