This week, a group of gradeschoolers chose to share the results of their research on Jamaica. In their presentation, children showed the Coat of Arms and discussed its origin. They also presented the Jamaican flag and talked about the meaning of its colors. They explained to the curious audience that the flag consists of the colors green, gold, and black. Black symbolizes the strength and creativity of the Jamaican people. Gold represents sunlight and the country's natural wealth. Green represents hope for the future and agricultural richness. At the conclusion of the presentation, the enthusiastic presenters treated their friends with Jamican cookies they have baked prior to the lecture.
